Educational Visits

At Park View we arrange school trips that provide unique opportunities for kinaesthetic learning i.e. ‘learning by doing’ and encourage students to engage with people, places and buildings in new ways. This is particularly beneficial for many SEN students who find visual and sensory experiences helpful to their learning and understanding.

Learning outside the classroom is rewarding and enriching for both teachers and pupils alike. At Park View we are trips to places such as churches, museums, galleries and law courts and these visits undoubtedly add extra depth to pupils’ learning and experience.

Dallowgill Environmental and Outdoor Education Centre

Extensive refurbishment and extension to the site has created an outdoor education centre which benefits Delta students across every school in the Trust. Dallowgill is available for use by all Delta schools, supporting enrichment across the curriculum, giving students access to nature and learning important life skills.

There are extensive grounds, an amphitheatre and a fire pit which can also be used for cooking. With access to local farms and plans for a designated camping area and astronomy facilities, the centre is the jewel in the crown of Delta’s outdoor education provision.

Dallowgill serves an important purpose for students to learn life skills. Teachers are able to plan weekend and overnight visits so students can learn how to cook basic meals, keep areas clean, share an appreciation for nature and create memorable experiences.
