This week Nursery celebrated Chinese New Year. At the beginning of the week, they discussed traditions and what preparations took place before the New Year began. They dressed in red which is a symbol of good luck and decorated their classroom with lanterns that they made. They got to taste some Chinese food such as noodles, prawn crackers and fortune cookies. The children loved the dragon dancing and enjoyed copying the movements and dancing to the music. They even had a go at writing Chinese numbers, and they made their own Chinese dragons! It was a wonderful week of celebrations and exploring another part of the world.
