Why We Love Reading

26th November 2015

This week we have two guest bloggers from Year 6 who wanted to explain exactly why it is that we love reading at Park View.

‘Hello everybody we are two students in year 6 at this amazing school Park View. At Park View we love our reading because it gives our fellow students a chance to have some serenity to get our heads into a fantastic book.

All of us have our different opinions on what different types of books we read like some of us like comedy, some of us like classic English literature and most like adventure and crime novels. In our school, we are very familiar with some of the most famous authors of all time, such as David Walliams, Roald Dahl, Jacqueline Wilson and Enid Blyton, and many more.

Some books are introduced to us which are related to our learning especially poetry. In the past we had been introduced to a very famous poem which is called “The Highwayman” by Alfred Noyes.

We all have our opinions on reading so here are some of Year 6’s:

“I like books because they always have problems which gives it a little bit of tension and at some point, most books have a happy ending “ Hafsah.

“We like reading because whenever we read a comedy book or others, we feel that there’s no limit to our crazy imagination.” Saba and Maliyah.

“I like books because I feel like I am inside the book witnessing every event. “ Hassan.

“I like instruction books because it helps me learn new things.” Ateeb.

In our opinion, we love our reading as it helps us learn even more and while we’re reading, we feel like we are inside the book observing the happenings of the story. In particular, most of us prefer reading books that are written by David Walliams, Jacqueline Wilson and Roald Dahl.

Across Park View, we are proud to say that we love reading!!
