Sharing our Positive Message

8th July 2015

It was really exciting that Calendar News came to visit and film at our school last week to share some of the positive work we are doing. It was great to celebrate the skills and talents of the Park View community and allowed our children to shine!

The Department for Education have issued new advice for schools which makes it clear that we are expected to provide a safe space in which children and staff understand the risks associated with extremism.

At Park View, we use our curriculum to support children so that they can celebrate their own culture and heritage as well as learning about life in modern Britain and traditional British Values. The aim of this is to enable the children to have a sense of identity.

We see this as part of our duty to keep children safe and all our staff have had training on how to  spot signs of radicalisation as well as other harm such as drugs or gangs.

If you would like to take part in our parents group, please come along to the Family Link Centre on a Friday morning.
