Pupil Premium Information

What is Pupil Premium?

The pupil premium is money additional to the academy’s main funding. It is matched to the number of children who are eligible or who have been eligible for Free School Meals or who are children in service families. This money can be used to enhance their current provision to directly support these children or indirectly through releasing time for teachers to provide small group support.

How is Pupil Premium used?

At Park View Primary Academy we use our funding for a range of purposes suited to the individual needs of our children.

Pupil Premium 2015 – 2016 allocation: £112,200

Last year, we continued to use all of the pupil premium funding to support achievement, pastoral care, inclusion and early intervention. We plan on building on previous year’s success. We will continue to work with teachers since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made available for the individual pupils within their classes.

We were pleased with the achievemnets of our Pupil Premium pupils in a range of areas and have evaluated our spending fully. Please see the report below if you'd like further detail.

Pupil Premium 2016 – 2017 provisional allocation: £110,000

This year, we would like our Pupil Premium pupils to achieve even better in all areas, particularly Reading and Writing. We will continue to use all of the pupil premium funding to support achievement, pastoral care, inclusion and early intervention.  Some of the different  ways we will spend our Pupil Premium Funding to support this are:

  • Talk for Writing Project to improve Writing in all classes
  • New 'PenPals' Handwriting scheme and 'Support for Spelling' to ensure all pupils are improving handwriting and Spelling as these are the areas our Pupil Premium children need a little bit more help with
  • Staff training in teaching of Reading and lots of lovely books to help them!
